GoPro has announced the latest addition to its Hero line of action-ready camcorders, the Hero3+ Black Edition. An upgrade over last year's Hero3 Black Edition, the 3+ will have roughly 30% better battery life, faster Wi-Fi, and a sharper lens, according to GoPro.
The Hero3+ Black Edition will also be capable of capturing 4K video at up to 15 frames per second, 2.7K video at 30 frames per second, as well as 1080/60p and 720/120p video. GoPro is also including a new SuperView video mode, which looks to capture wide-angle video footage at 1080p or 720p.
The camera itself is slightly smaller than the original GoPro Hero3 Black Edition, though the biggest changes seem to be to the included waterproof housing, with GoPro claiming a 20% reduction in size and weight overall.
The GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition is shipping today for $399.99, the same price that the original Hero3 Black Edition debuted for. For that price you get the camera, a waterproof housing (good for depths up to 131 feet), a Wi-Fi remote, rechargeable battery, two buckles, two mounts, a pivot arm, and the USB charging cable.
