The good days won't last forever. While summer comes to a close and the cold, dark nights are just around the corner, you wonder if you'll see the sunlight ever again.

You can preserve the memories of summer with any of the cameras that are on sale this weekend during Labor Day. Some major retailers apply big discounts to top-notch cameras and camcorders, so it'll be one of the best times to get good deals before Black Friday.

Sony Alpha NEX-5R with 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 kit lens

We gave the Sony NEX-5R an "Editor's Choice" award thanks to its surprisingly great image quality. Considering it's billed as an entry-level camera, it has strong noise reduction, resolution, and dynamic range scores. Our imaging experts are big fans of Sony's interchangeable lens cameras and were excited about this deal over at Adorama. Adding it to your shopping cart cuts the price down to $439 for the body plus the kit lens, along with free shipping.

Nikon D3200

You can do better than this DSLR if you want a full-frame camera, but the Nikon D3200 is easy to use, takes decent pictures with strong color accuracy thanks to its 24-megapixel sensor, and is light enough to not weigh you down on photo excursions. Now you can get it through Dell Home's labor day sale, which discounts the camera down to $549 with free shipping.

Canon Vixia HF R400

We haven't yet reviewed this camcorder, but the similar Canon Vixia HF R40 delivered great quality video for a low price, so it's safe to assume this deal isn't a bad one. It's on sale through Dell Home for $279 with free shipping. Sure it's only $20 in savings, but it has a 53x advanced zoom, making it good for capturing each moment as it happens.

Olympus PEN E-PL3

This Micro Four Thirds camera from Olympus is a couple years old at this point, but it's a unique option for people who want DSLR quality in a smaller package. We haven't reviewed this camera, but you can either spend close to $649 on a newer model or spend nearly $400 less on an older cousin like the E-PL3. Newegg newsletter subscribers can use the coupon code "EMCXMTX86," which drops the price down to $219 with free shipping.

Samsung NX2000

We haven't yet reviewed the NX2000, but we did test its sibling: The Samsung NX1000. We found that while it scored high in sharpness and image quality, it lagged in color accuracy. Both the NX1000 and the NX2000 have built-in WiFi that you can use to upload photos immediately to your favorite social networks and to the cloud. This deal through BuyDig also gets you a free 32GB SD memory card, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Premiere Elements 11. Using the coupon code "NXSAVE100" cuts it to $497 with free shipping.
